Born in Costa Rica of Swiss and British parents, I spent a good deal of my life overseas in Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and Europe. I attended university in the US receiving a BA in Spanish from Occidental College, a MS in Education from Stanford University with a teaching credential and finally a second MA from USC in Counseling with a Pupil Personnel Credential. I worked in the school system as both a teacher and a counselor for 14 years. In 1988 I became a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. For the past 23 years I have counseled in a variety of capacities and agencies and currently work primarily out of my private practice. I am serving a third term as an elected member of the South Pasadena Board of Education. I am also on the Board of Proximity Designs, a social enterprise located in Myanmar, whose mission is to improve the lives of the rural Burmese farmers.
I have been married for 26 years with 2 college age children as well as a dog and a bunny. I love traveling, exercising, reading and being with friends and family.
